Delizioso Skincare is a Canadian brand run by sister-duo Leeona and Ariel Emerald who are only 16 and 20!! All of their products are handmade and the girls make them fresh to order so they're not sitting around for months. They believe that natural is best (of course!) and only use the highest quality ingredients for their products. They have a wide range of products from lipsticks and eyeshadows to skincare products like facial cleansers & moisturisers. You can tell the girls are passionate about their products and whilst e-mailing about my review, they were so professional & helpful I never would have guessed how young they are! What an achievement to have such an amazing brand at a young age.
Here is my video where I talk all about the products that I was sent but I've also written a full blog post underneath if you prefer to have a read through & look at swatches!
As soon as I tried Lychee Crisp it was love at first
Bubblegum is a muted baby pink which is more sheer than Lychee Crisp and not as glossy. It doesn't show up that much on my lips as I have quite dark lips but its a lovely day colour that just adds moisture & a bit of colour to my lips to lighten them slightly. If I have heavy, smoky eyes or a lot of colour on the lids, this is the kind of shade I would wear! Again, I did a light swatch on the bottom then built it up on the top swatch.
Another lip product that I was sent is their Berry Lipliner* which is a gorgeous deep plum/berry shade. It's really creamy and very pigmented. I love using lipliners as an all over colour but something fun that I like to do is use a light shade all over my lips and use a darker lipliner to contour the outer corners of my lips just to add a slight bit of definition and volume! This works really well with the Lychee Crisp lipstick, I love the effect it gives. It's not that noticeable but it just adds a bit of definition, I think anyway!
The Tropical Bloom Eyeshadow Palette* is pretty out-there for me but I already have way too many neutral shades & thought it would be a great opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and try something different. This palette is talc free and the colours are really pigmented. The palette is 100% natural, gluten free and vegan. As you all will probably know I have trouble with my eyeshadows creasing and this was no exception - especially in the hot weather we've been having in the UK this past few weeks. Don't be put off by this though, I have extremely oily lids and every single eyeshadow creases on me, natural or not! The funny thing is, just above my eyelashes is where the eyeshadow stays and oh boy does it stay! It's just anything above that where it creases, my eyelid just eats it all up haha! The powders are really smooth and you don't get any fall-out at all which is great.
All of the colours are really pigmented but my favourites are the purple, green & blue as they're the ones I will wear the most. I wanted to try out a few different looks so I went for the green & blue for one look and then used the purple all over the lid, pink in the crease with their Purple Plum eyeliner for a bit of definition along my lashline. The tutorials for these looks are all in my video.
One of the newest launches to their cosmetics line are their Eyeliner Pencils and I received the shade Purple Plum* which is a very very deep purple. It's almost black its that dark but I don't mind that as I like smoky eyes! It has quite a hard consistency so I prefer to use an eyeliner brush to get some of the product off the pencil and onto my eyes instead of dragging it along my lashline. It works really well that way though and goes on smoothly.
It only costs £12.00 which isn't bad at all for a natural mascara and considering some of the ingredients; acai extract, cucumber seed oil, rice peptides, rose distillate, & green tea extract - all great ingredients! Unfortunately this one is a miss for me...however everything else is in my good books!
Then the lovely ladies sent me a couple of samples along with my order which I believe they do with all the orders they receive which is a great way to try more of their products! I got a sample sachet of their Lotus Cherry Blossom & the Juicy Nectarine Body Butters.
I did a quick Q&A with the girls too so you can get to know them a little more too!
How did you learn about natural skincare/makeup & which ingredients to use for each product?
We started to come into the business thanks to our mom (Dr. Mila Emerald) in 2008. We learned about all the ingredients, ratios, formulas really through practice, testing, research, research (!), studies, clinical studies and comparison. We were very set on creating a brand that is truly pure and all natural but not only...All the ingredients are raw, the products are made fresh to order, all made in Canada, Vegan, Cruelty Free, and Fair Trade. Our formulas are very strongly based on a scientific background of chemistry due to the fact that even with natural ingredients to get the right result it is SO crucial as with any formula to have the perfect combination.

What's been the most challenging part of setting up/running your own natural skincare company?
Honestly, the most challenging has proven to have been design and appearance of the products. Even in the earlier stages of when we launched we always had the same pure quality of product but it lacked in design and it drove customers away. Once we managed to overcome that barrier, things went much more smoothly. It's sad to say but women will buy a really fancy jar of cream that is highly unquality and diluted with water if it is presented nicely, so it was very important to us to have that appeal for these women so that no one misses out on the truly pure, luxury products. After all, your skin absorbs more than 60% of what you apply to it so it is crucial to actually pay attention, just like with food.
I have three sisters and work with two of them everyday - what's your least & most favourite thing about working together?
Oh wow :) We are so in sync it's almost funny at times. And it's funny to say also that we do most things together asides from only business. We are really close in perspectives, outlooks and ideals and that is why we're so fit for each other. And allot of siblings aren't that way, but for us it's like that. We finish each others sentences and sometimes say the same things at the same time. That is why it's so awesome to work together. We can rely on each other and the tasks we both handle work hand in hand...Can't even say we have a least favorite thing, honestly.

DeleteI haven't tried any of their products but I like the fun colours :) I don't know if I would be brave enough for some of them though! I actually think the mascara looks really good on you - it's the sort I would definitely pick up as it looks clean and defined. Great review - off to check out your video now xx
ReplyDeleteI know, some of them can be really bright but the orange looks really nice on its own as it has tiny flecks of gold. Not sure I'd ever wear yellow though aha! That's why I posted a photo because others might like the look :) thank you H xx
DeleteThe purple eye shadow looks amazing on you, do you have any idea how the mascara is preserved? it has water and no preservative that I can see which would make me a little nervous Xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Ana! I am going to be doing a purple smokey look soon too :) I have e-mailed the girls to ask them & will let you know as soon as I find out xx
